VertoMedia ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Sudoku+ mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our App.
By using Sudoku+, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
When you use our App, we may collect the following information:
- Sign in with Apple: When you sign in using Apple ID, we receive your Apple-provided user ID, and optionally your name and email address (if you choose to share them).
- Profile Information: Display name, avatar selections, and frame/title preferences you set in the app.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
- Game Statistics: Puzzles completed, completion times, difficulty levels played, mistakes made, scores, and progress tracking.
- Game Center Data: When connected to Game Center, we access your Game Center ID, display name, achievements, and leaderboard scores.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, app version, and language preferences.
- Usage Data: App launch times, feature usage, settings preferences, and game session data.
- Purchase History: Records of in-app purchases (Premium Themes Pack, Premium Subscription) processed through Apple's App Store.
1.3 CloudKit Data (Optional)
If you sign in with Apple ID and enable iCloud sync:
- Game progress and statistics are synced across your devices using Apple's CloudKit service.
- This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- App Functionality: To provide core game features, save your progress, track statistics, and sync data across devices.
- Personalization: To customize your experience with themes, profile customization, and difficulty recommendations.
- Leaderboards & Achievements: To display your position on leaderboards and track Game Center achievements.
- In-App Purchases: To manage premium subscriptions and unlock purchased content.
- Customer Support: To respond to your inquiries and provide technical support.
- App Improvement: To analyze usage patterns, fix bugs, and improve features (aggregated data only).
3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Local Storage
Most of your data is stored locally on your device:
- Game progress and statistics
- App settings and preferences
- Puzzle history and completion times
3.2 iCloud Storage (Optional)
If you enable iCloud sync:
- Data is encrypted and stored in your private iCloud account
- We do not have access to your iCloud data; it is controlled by Apple
- Data syncs across devices signed into the same Apple ID
3.3 Apple Services
- Game Center: Leaderboard scores and achievements are stored by Apple's Game Center service
- App Store: Purchase history is managed by Apple's App Store
- Sign in with Apple: Authentication is handled securely by Apple
3.4 Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- Secure communication protocols (HTTPS)
- Local data encryption on your device
- No storage of sensitive authentication credentials

- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data by using the "Sign Out" and "Reset Account" options in Settings
- Export: View and screenshot your statistics from the Stats screen
- Opt-Out of CloudKit: Disable iCloud sync in your device Settings → iCloud
5.1 Deleting Your Data
To completely delete your data:
- Open Sudoku+ and go to Settings
- Tap "Sign Out" (if signed in)
- Tap "Reset Account" to delete all local game data
- Delete the app from your device
- Disable iCloud sync for Sudoku+ in iOS Settings (if enabled)
6. Children's Privacy
Sudoku+ does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at jeanre@vertomedia.co.za.
7. International Data Transfers
Your data may be stored and processed in any country where we or Apple operate. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of information to countries outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection laws.
8. Data Retention
- Local Data: Retained on your device until you delete the app or reset your account
- iCloud Data: Retained in your iCloud account until you disable sync or delete the data
- Game Center Data: Retained by Apple according to their retention policies
9. Third-Party Links
Our App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.
10. Analytics and Tracking
We do not use third-party analytics or tracking services. All usage data remains on your device or in your personal iCloud account. We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and on this page
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
- Providing an in-app notification for material changes
Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
